WHAT IS ALLUZIENCE?
Alluzience is a new-to-market, BOTOX (B0Tulinum TOXin TYPE A) product that lasts for double the amount of time as standard botox.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AZZALURE AND ALLUZIENCE?
Both Azzalure (European brand name of Dysport) and Alluzience are botulinum toxin type A products, manufactured by Ipsen and distributed by Galderma. However, Alluzience is a newly-developed product (launched in June 2022) that has a much faster onset of action, and a longer duration of clinical effect.
WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE ALLUZIENCE?
If you are looking to have a quicker onset of action, and longer-lasting results than standard botox, than Alluzience may be for you. If you are looking to only have to have treatment twice a year, as opposed to four times a year, than Alluzience may be for you. If you have a last minute event in which you need to look your best, within a fortnight, than Alluzience is more likely than standard botox to give you the quick results you are looking for.
WHAT IS ALLUZIENCE USED FOR?
Alluzience is used to treat fine, moderate, and severe dynamic and static lines and wrinkles on the face. BOTOX is also used for many medical ailments, such as blepharospasm, migraines and excessive sweating.

HOW DOES ALLUZIENCE WORK?
Alluzience works in the same way as standard botox, essentially stopping the nerves talking to the muscle, resulting in lesser movement and therefore smoothing and preventing lines and wrinkles.
HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?
ALLUZIENCE has been shown to start working as quickly as within 24 hours for 1 in 4 patients. In all patients, it has a much faster onset of full effect than standard botox, which typically takes between 14-21 days.
HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS OF ALLUZIENCE LAST?
Clinical trials have demonstrated that Alluzience can last up to 6 months, versus standard botox which typically lasts between 3-4 months.
HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
Around 10 minutes.
IS THE PROCEDURE ITSELF PAINFUL?
Not at all.
ARE THE RESULTS INSTANT?
No. Anti-wrinkle injections start to work within 3-10, with full effects seen at 14 days.

HOW MANY 'AREAS' DO I NEED? WHAT IS AN 'AREA'?
Anti-wrinkle injections are typically used to treat 'areas': these are the frown lines (11's), expression lines (forehead), and crows feet (eye wrinkles). Each of these are 'one' area', and the most common amongst our clients are these typical three areas at once. However, which areas you have treated are completely up to you. Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to treat 'orange-peel' chin, 'bunny lines', and provide an eyebrow lift - amongst others.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD - OR SHOULDN'T DO - PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT?
We advise you not to drink alcohol or take Ibuprofen within the preceding 24hours of your appointment, as this can increase the risk of bruising.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?
Not much! Immediately following injection, the treated areas may be slightly pink and / or 'bumpy' for 5 - 10 minutes. Then it's just a case of waiting for it all to kick in!
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD OR SHOULDN'T DO AFTER HAVING ALLUZIENCE?
Following Alluzience, the same rules apply as to regular, standard botox. Do not touch the injected areas following your treatment. Do not massage the treated areas. Do not wear make-up for an hour (ideally six hours) following treatment. Keep moving the muscles that have been injected for around one hour after treatment as this helps the BOTOX to settle into the muscles (in other words, just move your face as normal!).
Anti-wrinkle injections really are a treatment you can have in your lunch break and return to work straight away, there really is no down time at all!
WHAT ABOUT ANY RISKS?
Alluzience injections are very safe, but due to the rapid onset of action and long-lasting results, Alluzience should not be injected by anyone who does not have extensive experience in using standard botox. Alluzience should only be injected by expert injectors. When injected by experienced medical professionals (we have undertaken thousands of anti-wrinkle injections and actually provide training to medical professionals - including doctors, nurses, midwives and pharmacists). The main risks associated with Alluzience are the same as botox: most commonly associated with the injections themselves - that is, pinprick redness, pinprick bleeding (both of which resolve during the treatment), possible small transitory bumps immediately afterwards (which go within 5-10 minutes), and a small risk of pinprick bruising. However, whilst there is a risk of unintended aesthetic result with any botulinum toxin treatment, including regular, standard botox, (such as dropping the eyebrow, raising the eyebrow, or dropping the eyelid), although these are very rare, as Alluzience lasts longer, this does mean that any unintended aesthetic result will also last longer. This is something that needs to be considered carefully by both you and the practitioner - if we believe you are more at risk of an unintended aesthetic result than the 'average' person, we may well guide you away from Alluzience and towards our standard botox preparations instead.
ARE THERE ANY PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR ALLUZIENCE?
You cannot have anti-wrinkle injections if:
You are pregnant
You are breastfeeding
You are taking certain antibiotics
You have any chronic muscle or nerve conditions, such as Eaton Lambert syndrome, myasthenia gravis, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
You have any sensitivity to any of the product excipients - human albumin or lactose monohydrate
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
Alluzience injections are prescription only, which means you if this is your first visit to us you MUST have a consultation and complete your medical form at least 48 hours before your appointment. This can be done either remotely (over the telephone due to current COVID guidance and regulations) or face to face in clinic.This is to ensure product safety and suitability for YOU. Once you have been seen and treated with anti-wrinkle injections at least once, you are able to simply book and be treated without the need for any further, separate consultation.
