HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?
MICRONEEDLING really gives an instant 'glow', providing you with with instantly healthierskin. Results then improve over several weeks, as your body then starts to create collagen and elastin.
HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS OF MICRONEEDLING LAST?
Microneedling gives instant, long-lasting results. Several sessions may be required at the start of your treatment plan, depending on your skin, skin concerns, and skin conditions. We then advise a single microneedling session every 4-6 weeks to maintain skins overall improved texture, tone, glow and health.
HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
Depending on the system, amd the area(s) treated, anywhere from 10-20 minutes.
IS THE PROCEDURE ITSELF PAINFUL?
A topical numbing cream may be applied before your microneedling treatment (as long as you do not have any allergies or contraindications to this) if the needle is penetrating deeper than 0.6mm. Depth of penetration depends on the system and skin conditions and concerns. We will advise you of what is best for you in clinic.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?
For many clients, just one treatment will give the desired results: for other clients with skin problems such as fine lines, hyperpigmentation, acne or hair loss we may recommend a total of 4-6 initial treatment sessions undertaken weekly for optimum results. Following this, we recommend a single treatment every 4-12 weeks to maintain your beautiful results.
Over time the benefits of the skin-nourishing ingredients will build up, making the results of each subsequent treatment even better than the last!
If you are just looking for that 'one off' added 'glow', for a wedding or a special event, you can have just a single treatment session.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD - OR SHOULDN'T DO - PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT?
We advise you not to drink alcohol or take Ibuprofen within the preceding 24hours of your appointment, as this can increase the risk of bruising.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?
Microneedling does involve some downtime, which varies depending on the depth of treatment. If a more superficial approach is used, downtime is minimal, and your skin may have a mild flush that fades within hours. However, for deeper microneedling treatments, you can expect pink to bright red skin, which may last for a couple of days.
Some individuals may also experience mild roughness or dryness as the skin exfoliates and regenerates, which is a normal part of the rejuvenation process. This will be fully discussed during your consultation, ensuring you know what to expect based on your specific treatment plan.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD OR SHOULDN'T DO AFTER MICRONEEDLING?
After your microneedling treatment, we provide you with a specific cleanser and recovery cream to use for the first 2–3 days to protect and support your skin barrier. During this time, it is essential to avoid active skincare ingredients such as AHAs, BHAs, tretinoin, retinols, vitamin C, or any exfoliating products, as these can cause irritation while your skin is healing.
After the initial recovery period, you can gradually reintroduce these active ingredients slowly and carefully, following the guidance of our clinician.
✔ Do not touch the treated areas immediately after your session.
✔ Avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
✔ Avoid steam rooms and saunas for two weeks to prevent irritation.
✔ Apply SPF 50 daily to protect your skin and enhance results.
✔ Keep skin well-moisturised to aid in healing.
✔ Do not pick, scratch, or peel if your skin feels rough or starts to flake—this is a natural part of the renewal process.
Following these guidelines will maximise your results and ensure a smooth, effective healing process.
WHAT ABOUT ANY RISKS?
For some people, microneedling may cause your skin to look or feel dry, flaky and or peel. This is simply part of the exfoliation process that will ultimately leave your skin glowing and luminous.
All microneedling devices involve the use of tiny needles, which may occasionally leave very small bruises.
Your skin may feel dehydrated, dry, hot, and tight which is normal, but we may advise that you use our intense repair complex to speed up the healing process.
ARE THERE ANY PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR MICRONEEDLING?
You cannot have MICRONEEDLING if:
- You have certain types of active acne
- Any haemophilia, bleeding disorder, or are taking blood thinning medications
- Active infection of any type
- Skin cancer
- You have had keloid or hypertrophic scarring
- You have dermatitis
You are pregnant
- You are breastfeeding
You are taking certain antibiotics
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
MICRONEEDLING with BOTOX involves the use of prescription only medication, which means you if this is your first visit to us you MUST have a consultation at least 48 hours before your treatment. This can be done either remotely (over the telephone due to current COVID guidance and regulations) or face to face in clinic.This is to ensure product safety and suitability for YOU. Once you have been seen and treated with WOW FUSION / MICRONEEDLING with BOTOX at least once, you are able to simply book and be treated without the need for any further, separate consultation.
