POLYNUCLEOTIDES IN CARDIFF
Discover the power of Polynucleotides (polymerised polynucleotides, or PDRN for short), a brach of aesthetic medicine that comes under the arm of Regenerative Medicine' (along with Platelet Rich Plasma): an area of aesthetics which focuses on improving the skin through holistic skin rejuvenation.
Polynucleotides stimulates your body to synthesise and produce collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, whilst also inducing angiogenesis (new blood supply), stimulating cell proliferation (cell turnover), and providing antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and hydrating properties.
WHERE CAN POLYNUCLEOTIDES BE USED?
Polynuclsotides can be used all over the face and body, to improve numerous skin concerns and improve overall skin health. Different PDRN's bay be suitable for different areas. WHAT ARE POLYNUCLEOTIDES?
Polynucleotides (PN) are biologically derived substances composed of nucleotides. Nucleotides are the building blocks of nucleic acids, which include DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and RNA (ribonucleic acid). Polynucleotides are derived from a natural source, such as salmon or trout DNA, and are processed to obtain a purified form suitable for cosmetic and medical purposes. Our cells also have DNA, which are made of polynucleotides, and when we inject more polynucleotides into aged and damaged skin cells, they help to regenerate tissue by stimulating fibroblasts – a type of cell that contributes to the formation of connective tissue. Essentially, we are healing you skin from within. Polynucleotides filtered initiate your body’s natural production of fibroblasts, resulting in increased collagen (47% in 23 days), and a thicker, healthier epidermis (52% in 23 days).
NEWEST
Suitable for all skin types and ages, NEWEST really it the 'newest' treatment on the block, and is actually the first product of it's kind - a hybrid of polynucleotides (PDRN's) and hyaluronic acid (HA), delivering all the benefits of PDRN's with all the properties of a HA skin-booster treatment.
COST: £199
LUMI EYES
Nucleofill, a polynucleotide that helps to regenerate and restore the under eye area. Improves the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, lax, ageing, crepy skin, and under eye wrinkles. Suitable for those who may not be suitable for other under eye treatments, such as tear trough filler, more suited for younger clients.
COST: £199

POLYNUCLEOTIDE FAQ'S
WHAT ARE POLYNUCLEOTIDES?
Polynucleotides have been around in medicine since 1986, and are the latest revolutionary tool in both regenerative and aesthetic medicine, working on a cellular level to repair tissue and improve skin quality. A polynucleotide, be definition, is a polymeric chain of mononucleotides, a sequence of nucloetides, as in DNA, or RNA, bound into a chain.
In the form of polymerised polynucleotide-based injectable gels, polynucleotides work by stimulating fibroblasts. Fibroblasts encourages cell turnover, improve elasticity, boost collagen production, and hydrate the skin. This is thanks to it's powerful wound-healing polymers.
Polynucleotides also calm inflammation and rebalance melanocyte activity to create an even and refreshed skin tone.
WHAT DO POLYNUCLEOTIDES DO TO THE SKIN?
- Stimulate cell proliferation
- Regenerate the tissues and cells
- Induce synthesis of hyaluronic acid
- Induce angiogensis
- Inhibition of pigmentation
- Have an ani-inflammatory effect
- Restore fibroblast activity, increasing collagen and elastin
- Reverse ageing
- Reduce hyperpigmentation

HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Unlike SKIN BOOSTERS, Polynuclotides do not give instant results. Any treatment that stimulates and or relies on the body to do something, takes a little time. For example, see below for the difference between between polynucleotides and skin boosters:
POLYNUCLEOTIDES
TREATED AREAS: face, neck, hands, body, decollete, scalp, intimate areas.
EFFECTS: stimulates fibroblast production, induces repair of tissues,
reduces inflammatory processes, regulates melanogenesis, promotes
hydration.
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Purified PN.
DOWNSIDES: Does not give volume, no immediate results.
SKIN BOOSTERS
TREATED AREAS: face, neck, hands, body, decollete.
EFFECTS: gives hydration, slight filling and lifting effect
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Hyaluronic Acid.
DOWNSIDES: No regeneration action, shorter duration of effects
POLYNUCLEOTIDES CAN BE COMBINED WITH SKIN BOOSTERS FOR THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS, SEE OUR COMBINATION PACKAGE!
Also, see NEWEST, the worlds first and only combined polynucleotide and hyaluronic acid treatment, all in a single product!
HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS OF POLYNUCLEOTIDES LAST?
We recommend maintenance sessions every 3-6 months. This will vary depending on you, your sin, other treatments, and desired results.
HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
Depending on the product, amd the area(s) treated, anywhere from 10-40 minutes.
IS THE PROCEDURE ITSELF PAINFUL?
A topical numbing cream may be applied before your polynucleotide treatment (as long as you do not have any allergies or contraindications to this). This makes the treatment very comfortable.
WHERE IS THE TREATMENT PERFORMED?
We provide polynucleotide treatment in Cardiff.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?
How many treatments you need will depend on you, your skin, concerns, desired results, and whether ot not polynucleotides are being used alone, or in combination with other treatments.
As a general rule, the protocols are as follows:
POLYNUCLEOTIDE TREATMENT ONLY
3- 4 sessions (depending on age, and level of skin concern), 20 days apart.
POLYNUCLEOTIDE & SKIN BOOSTER (COMBINATION TREATMENT)
4 sessions total: 2 sessions of PN's, and 2 sessions of SB, all 14 days apart.
CAN POLYNUCLEOTIDES BE COMBINED WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?
Yes, polynucleotides can absolutely be combined with any other injectable treatment. Polynucleotides can also be used to prep the skin before other treatments, and are a great enhancement to other aesthetic procedures.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD - OR SHOULDN'T DO - PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT?
We advise you not to drink alcohol or take Ibuprofen within the preceding 24hours of your appointment, as this can increase the risk of bruising.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?
You can expect to be a little pink or red, with small, raised 'blebs' on the surface of the skin. You may feel a sens of warmth in the treated area(s). These can last from a few hours, to a few days.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD OR SHOULDN'T DO AFTER HAVING POLYNUCLEOTIDES?
Do not touch the injected areas following your treatment. Do not wear make-up for an hour (ideally six hours) following treatment. Avoid steam rooms and saunas for 2 weeks following your treatment. Wear SPF 50 at all times.
WHAT ABOUT ANY RISKS?
Polynucleotide treatment is very safe. There are no known serious side effects. All individual and specific risks and side effects will be discussed with you during your appointment.
ARE THERE ANY PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR POLYNUCLEOTIDES?
