NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY

NON SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY FAQ'S
WHAT IS A NON SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY?
A non surgical rhinoplasty (otherwise known as a 'liquid nose job' or the '15 minute nose job') is a treatment to reshape the nose for cosmetic purposes using dermal filler. It is a highly popular alternative to having an operation (nose surgery, otherwise known as surgical rhinoplasty) as it is instant, safer than surgery more cost effective, and involves practically no or minimal downtime, with most clients able to return to work the very same day.
WHAT SORT OF CHANGES CAN A NON SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY GIVE ME?
A non surgical rhinoplasty can:
- Reshape the nose overall
- Reduce the size of the nose
- Increase the size of the nose
- Change and remove the appearance of any hump in the nose
- Change the bridge of the nose
- Change the shape of the tip of the nose
- Lift the tip (Tinkerbell lift)
- Change the width and length of the nose
- Correct any deviation
- Straighten the nose
- Change the angle between the upper lip and the nose
- Change and reshape the bridge of the nose
WHICH DERMAL FILLER DO YOU USE FOR A NON SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY?
We use Restylane Lyft to reshape the nose.
DO I NEED AN ALLERGY TEST BEFOREHAND?
No. As hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring protein within our body, the risk of allergy is extremely low and testing is not needed.
HOW LONG DOES A NON SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY LAST?
A non-surgical rhinoplasty lasts on average 12 months.
HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
Schedule 30 minutes for your appointment. The actual treatment takes about 10 - 15 minutes.
IS THE PROCEDURE ITSELF PAINFUL?
It is not typically a painful treatment. You may feel a little pinch or slight discomfort in certain areas.
ARE THE RESULTS INSTANT?
Yes.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD - OR SHOULDN'T DO - PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT?
We advise you not to drink alcohol or take Ibuprofen within the preceding 24hours of your appointment, as this can increase the risk of bruising.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?
There is very little downtime associated with nose filler, and more often than not, none at all. However, any treatment involving injections carries a possible risk of bruising which may last a few days. In these instances, any bruising can be covered with make-up.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD OR SHOULDN'T DO AFTER HAVING NOSE FILLER?
Do not vigorously massage the treated area in the days after the treatment.
Do not wear glasses or sunglasses for 48 hours following treatment if we have treated the bridge (top part) of your nose.
WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE IT?
Unlike surgical nose jobs - which, if you don't like the result, is either permanent or means undergoing another expensive surgery! - hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can be safely dissolved.
WHAT ABOUT ANY RISKS?
A non-surgical rhinoplasty is very safe when licensed products are injected by experienced medical professionals who know the anatomy of the face. As a liquid nose job is a highly advanced and specialist procedure, it should NEVER be carried out by a non-medical person, or any medical professional without the appropriate expertise and training.
The main risks associated with dermal fillers are associated with the injections themselves - that is, pinprick redness and pinprick bleeding (both of which resolve during the treatment) and a small risk of pinprick bruising. The use of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers in African-American patients can result in darkening of the skin colour which should resolve in several weeks. There is a small risk of infection, but all products are one-time-use and prepared and administered in an aseptic environment. There is an extremely remote risk (so rare that there are no statistics!) of vascular / arterial occlusion, but rest assured that we are trained to recognise and treat this extremely rare complication should it arise.
IS THERE ANYBODY WHO CANNOT HAVE A NON SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY?
You cannot have nose filler if:
You are pregnant.
You are breastfeeding.
You are under 18 years of age.
You are prone to bleeding disorders.
You have previously had a surgical rhinoplasty.
